Fifth Estate Wines is a family-owned boutique winery located just 80 minutes south of Perth in Harvey, in the heart of the Geographe wine region.

As producers of premium WA wines, we take a hands-on approach to every aspect of vineyard management, ensuring exceptional fruit quality from vine to bottle.

Our small-batch WA wines include Shiraz, Chardonnay, Rosé and Tempranillo – varietals perfectly suited to the Geographe region’s unique terroir.

Each wine reflects the character of this underrated Western Australian wine region, delivering balance, depth and distinctive flavour. We’re also one of very few WA wineries producing Sparkling Shiraz using the traditional method – a wine style with a devoted following among WA wine lovers.

Our Story

For owners Julie and Mark Moloney, Fifth Estate has been a labour of love from the very first vine.

Site preparation began in 1998, and in 1999 they planted rootlings by hand, heralding the start of years of hands-on work training, pruning and harvesting the vines themselves.

Mark’s passion for the land runs deep. After earning an agricultural degree in Victoria, he spent his early career working on the land, developing the expertise that would later shape Fifth Estate. Together, Julie and Mark built the vineyard from scratch, harvesting by hand in those early years before eventually moving to machine harvesting as the vineyard matured.

For the first five years, every decision focused on vine development—encouraging strong, even growth and structural conformity before any fruit was taken. That patience paid off with their first commercial vintage in 2005, by which time the vines were producing fruit of exceptional character and flavour. Two decades later, Fifth Estate continues to craft WA wines that reflect that same commitment to quality.

Winemaker Peter Stanlake brings an intimate understanding of the Geographe region to every vintage.

His meticulous approach to winemaking ensures our WA wines consistently reach new heights in quality and expression. Through careful vineyard management and attention to detail at every stage of production, Fifth Estate has built a reputation for award-winning Harvey wines.
